The CBI, which is probing the Bengal post-poll violence case, visited the residence of deceased BJP worker Avijit Sarkar in Kolkata. Avijit Sarkar's brother Biswajit had earlier moved the Calcutta High Court seeking a fair trial and blamed Kolkata Police for the death of his brother. He had also alleged that Avijit, who was a BJP worker, was a victim of post-poll violence in Bengal.
