Calgary man arrested after aerial drone drops $751K worth of drugs, contraband into Manitoba prison

Prison guards and Mounties in Manitoba say they seized two packages of drugs over the weekend in a very unconventional way.
RCMP say they learned a drone dropped off a large package at the Stony Mountain Institution, north of Winnipeg, in the pre-dawn hours on Sunday.
The Correctional Service of Canada says the contraband included methamphetamine and other drugs worth $751,000.
At the same time, nearby officers noticed and pulled over a vehicle turning onto a rural road near the prison.
Inside the vehicle, Mounties say there was a black case labelled with a drone manufacturer's name, as well as a drone at the feet of a man in the passenger seat with a second package.
Police say the package contained balloons filled with methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs valued at $600,000.
A 28-year-old man from Calgary has been charged with trafficking.
