
Calcutta HC quashes of removal of Nandigram Panchayat Pradhan Pabitra Kar

Pabitra Kar, known to be a Suvendu Adhikari loyalist, will continue as the Panchayat Pradhan of Boyal-1 in Nandigram.
In a setback for the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Calcutta High Court has quashed the case of removal of Boyal Block-1, Panchayat Pradhan Pabitra Kar in Nandigram. The Block Development Officer (BDO) stated that eight of the 10 members had moved a no-confidence motion seeking his removal.Pabitra Kar, also known to be a Suvendu Adhikari loyalist, had moved Calcutta High Court against the no-confidence motion.While hearing the case on Thursday, Justice Arindam Mukherjee quashed the notice on the removal of Kar. Pabitra Kar will now continue as the Panchayat Pradhan of Boyal-1 in Nandigram.This is the same block where Mamata Banerjee spent more than two hours on the polling day during the recently held assembly elections in West Bengal.
