QNADohaThe Cabinet has approved a draft decision of the Chairman of Qatar for Tourism to consider holiday homes as hotel establishments.Under the project, holiday homes are considered hotel establishments, in accordance with the provisions of Law No 20 of 2018 regarding tourism regulation and its provisions. Holiday homes mean furnished housing units prepared for residence, and provided with utilities, whether they are rooms, apartments, houses, villas or camps, and they are rented as a complete or divided unit on a daily or weekly basis or any temporary period not exceeding 30 consecutive days.The Cabinet meeting on Wednesday was chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.At the beginning, the Cabinet conveyed its highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al Adha, asking Allah Almighty on this occasion good health and happiness for His Highness, and for Qatar and its people more splendor, goodness, development and prosperity under the wise leadership of HH the Amir.The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken to combat the COVID-19 after it was briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to curb the pandemic. The Cabinet also reviewed the report prepared by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment on the results of the work accomplished to implement the recommendations regarding building permits and the procedures for issuing them and took the appropriate decisions.It also reviewed the results of the 54th session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, the 74th session of the World Health Assembly, and the 149th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization.
