Changes to family seating on flights proposed by the Biden administration have since stalled under current U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
Actress Brenda Song is criticizing Alaska Airlines for a family seating issue on a recent flight.
"I didn't know when you book your first class tickets 6 months in advanced for your family of six for your son's birthday - @alaskaair can just give away your seats the morning of with no warning-splitting up you and your 3 and 4 year old kids," Song wrote on her Instagram Stories March 21. "We will never fly @alaskaair again and neither should you."
Song also tagged her fiancé, actor Macaulay Culkin, who shared the post to his 3 million Instagram followers.
On their website, the Alaska Airlines says they "guarantee that children 13 and under will be seated next to at least one accompanying adult at no additional cost." But, certain conditions must be met, including the child and adult are booked on the same reservation.
In a statement to USA TODAY on Sunday, March 22, Alaska Airlines said the company has reached out to the family to "make it right."
