Borussia Dortmund have signed 20-year-old forward Karim Adeyemi after highly-rated striker Erling Haaland agreed to a move to Manchester City.

Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose on Thursday, May 12 said the German side will continue to be competitive despite Erling Haaland's departure. Haaland agreed terms with Manchester City for a move to the Premier League at the end of the season, putting months of speculation about his future to rest.

Haaland, one of the highly-rated striker's going around, will play his last match for Dortmund when they face relegation-threatened Hertha Berlin on Saturday in their Bundesliga game.

Haaland has been an integral member of Borussia Dortmund ever since he joined Ruhr Valley club in 2020. The Norwegian youngster has scored 85 times in 88 matches in all competitions, having top-scored in Champions League as well as UEFA Nations League last season.

Haaland's multi-year deal with Manchester City will certainly leave a big hole in Dortmund but Rose is confident that the German side will continue to be competitive. They are at the 2nd spot in the league table with 66 points from 33 matches, 10 less than leaders Bayern Munich who have already clinched the league title.

"We won't stop playing football after Erling leaves us," coach Marco Rose said.

"He decided to take his next step with City and we wish him all the best. He gave us goals, energy, he is a player who always wants to win. I think he still can improve. He is still young."

Dortmund have signed 20-year-old forward Karim Adeyemi for next season, along with defender Niklas Suele and Germany international Nico Schlotterbeck.
