Blood test could predict when Alzheimer's symptoms will start years in advance

Experimental blood test could predict Alzheimer's disease onset years in advance by detecting p-tau217 protein levels, Washington University researchers found.
"At this point, we do not recommend that any cognitively unimpaired individuals have any Alzheimer’s disease biomarker test." Khloe Quill is a lifestyle production assistant with Fox News Digital. She and the lifestyle team cover a range of story topics including food and drink, travel, and health.
The specific protein, known as p-tau217, forms "tangles" in the brain that disrupt communication between nerve cells. In a healthy brain, tau helps to stabilize the structure of nerve cells.
