BJP MP Locket Chatterjee asks Centre to take back her 'Y' category security

BJP MP Locket Chhatterjee has asked the MHA to withdraw her security cover, citing post-poll violence in Bengal that has put her party members at risk.

Citing cases of post-poll violence in West Bengal, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee has asked the Centre to withdraw her ‘Y’ category security, saying that if she could not protect her party members, she should not have protection either. Under the 'Y' category security, four to five armed commandos escort the protectee. Locket Chatterjee, BJP MP from West Bengal’s Hooghly district, wrote an email to the Home Ministry on Sunday to convey her decision.
