
Bihar police arrest 5 accused in Madhubani murders case: 10 points

The Bihar Police on Wednesday said it arrested five accused in the Madhubani massacre case. Five people had died in the March 29-incident. The main accused, Praveen Jha and Bhola Singh were arrested along with Chandan Jha, Kamlesh Singh and Mukesh Saafi.
On the day of Holi, Bihar witnessed the killings of five people, including a family of four, in the Madhubani district. One of the deceased was a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan who was visiting home on leave to celebrate Holi.The Opposition attacked the Nitish Kumar government calling the incident a “massacre”. Even leaders from the BJP, an ally of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United, criticised the law-and-order situation in Bihar after the Madhubani massacre. Bihar Police has now arrested five accused in the Madhubani murders. The main accused, Praveen Jha and Bhola Singh have been arrested along with Chandan Jha, Kamlesh Singh and Mukesh Saafi.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
