Shivamogga police shoot rowdy sheeter trying to escape after attacking officer, suspect arrested with bullet wound.
The Shivamogga police shot at a rowdy sheeter, who allegedly tried to escape after attacking one of the policemen, Bhadravati, on Friday. Gunda, alias Ravi, suffered a bullet injury on his right leg.
Superintendent of Police, Shivamogga, G.K. Mithun Kumar told media persons that Gunda was an accused in four cases. He tried to escape after hurting a policeman. Sub-inspector of Police Krishna of Hosmane Police Station shot at Gunda in self-defence, after the accused did not surrender despite repeated warnings from the police.
The police arrested Gunda and shifted him to the hospital in Bhadravathi. Meanwhile, policeman Prakash, who suffered injuries in the incident, was also under treatment.
