Bengals’ Tee Higgins signs franchise tag to end contract drama
NY Post
Tee Higgins gave in.
The Bengals’ star receiver is signing his franchise tag, according to ESPN, and is expected to report for the start of training camp.
He had missed all three days of the team’s mandatory minicamp, in addition to the entire voluntary portion of offseason workouts, while he had not yet signed the tag.
Higgins, 25, had been seeking a long-term deal, and signing the tag does not prohibit the two sides from continuing, until July 15, to negotiate for a new contract.
But it’s “unlikely” that the two sides will come to an agreement, according to the report.
Still, his holdout should now be over.

SALT LAKE CITY — It’s easy to forget about the quiet, which in Knicks World means Leon Rose. We’re approaching five years — amazingly — since the team president answered questions from the independent media, and I’ve always maintained that’s poor practice because it avoids responsibility. If there’s no public explanation behind a move or a goal, there’s no accountability if it doesn’t work out.
