Bengal BJP in Supreme Court over deployment of central forces in Feb 27 civic polls

Bengal will vote to elect representatives to 108 municipalities on February 27.
The Bengal BJP has moved the Supreme Court asking for the deployment of central forces when polling will be held for 108 civic bodies on February 27.
This comes after the State Election Commission decided to conduct the elections with only the state police and not deploy the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

The Supreme Court will hear the matter tomorrow.
During the civic polls in four municipalities in Bidhannagar, Asansol, Siliguri and Chandennagor Municipal Corporation on February 12, the Calcutta High Court asked the State Election Commission to decide on the deployment of central forces.
The SEC had then, too, deployed state police.
