The Ashes: Ben Stokes, who has been on an indefinite break since withdrawing from the home test series against India this year to focus on his mental health, sustained the injury playing in the Indian Premier League in April.
England all-rounder Ben Stokes could miss out on the Ashes after undergoing a successful second surgery on his broken index finger. Stokes has been on an indefinite break from cricket and earlier missed England's home Test series against India.
The 30-year-old is also set to miss out on the T20 World Cup that starts this month in the UAE. Stokes sustained the injury playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in April.
