'Avatar' sequel accused of 'romanticizing' and 'glorifying' colonialism

Writer Shaznay Martin on Thursday slammed the "Avatar" franchise and director James Cameron for alleged "racism" and messages of colonialism in the films.

"Many will remember the blue alien species facing adversity, but not many will remember (or have even noticed) that the central conflict in ‘Avatar’ is an allegory for colonialism," Martin wrote.
