The trailer of Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film, Assi was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Written by Anubhav Sinha and Gaurav Solanki and directed by Anubhav, the film also stars Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the film, where Taapsee plays a lawyer, who takes on a brutal rape case. She argues emotionally in the courtroom about how 80 rape cases were reported in a single day in the country. Kani and Zeeshan play a couple, whose lives are devastated after she is raped by a bunch of men and thrown on the tracks. Taapsee fights her case in the court. The trailer features some intense exchanges in the courtroom between Taapsee’s character and another lawyer. The film promises to be a hard-hitting social drama with impactful dialogues.
Assi marks the third collaboration between Taapsee and Anubhav after Mulk (2018) and Thappad (2020).
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Anubhav Sinha, the film will be released in theatres on February 20.
