A youth from Chanduwalpara Ramhari village near Mangaldoi in Assam’s Darrang district made his wedding day even more special by arranging a blood donation camp inside the marriage hall.

Phanidra Deka, the groom, took up the noble initiative with the help of ‘UNITY we the blood donors’ and his family members.
Phanidra had planned to arrange a blood donation camp at his wedding as he wanted to do something different during his wedding celebrations.
At first, the groom donated blood at the camp and later many other guests came forward to donate the blood.
According to the reports, Phanidra Deka and his family had arranged the marriage at their residence.
Posters on the importance of blood donation were also displayed at the gate of the groom’s residence.
“I am so happy about donating blood on my wedding day. I have no words to describe it. ‘Unity we the blood donors’ and the youth of my village have helped me to do this noble work. I want to appeal to the people to donate blood and save the lives of those in need,” Deka said.
