Asia Cup 2022: India-Pakistan games are always high on intensity, says Haris Rauf ahead of Super 4 clash

Asia Cup 2022, Super 4: India and Pakistan will face each other on Sunday, September 4 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Fast bowler Haris Rauf sounded hopeful for Pakistan to put up a “competitive” show against India in the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four match on Sunday, September 4. Back on August 28, the two arch-rivals were involved in a nail-biting contest in Dubai, but it was India who won the match by five wickets with two balls to spare.

Hardik Pandya became the Player of the Match after he picked up three wickets and scored an unbeaten 17-ball 33. Hardik hit Haris Rauf for three fours in the penultimate over and made the task easier for the Men in Blue in the last over.

“India-Pakistan games are always high intensity matches and we are confident to produce a competitive clash on Sunday. It was a nail-biter last Sunday, which went into the last over, but 4 September will be a new date and we are hopeful to cross the line this time in Dubai,” Haris was quoted as saying on PCB Digital.

Haris also said that he has thoroughly enjoyed bowling with Naseem Shah, who made his T20I debut against India. Rauf said that Naseem keeps batters on their toes with his aggression and pace.

“Bowling partnerships are very important in this format of the game and I am really enjoying bowling with the young sensation Naseem Shah. Because of his searing pace, he keeps the opponents on the backfoot, which gives edge to the other bowlers,” he added.

Naseem dismissed KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav in that game and had produced a chance to get rid of Virat Kohli as well.
