The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that the number of Qatari employees in the authority has more than doubled over the past 4 years with an increase of 135 percent. The number of Qatari engineers has also increased up to 163 percent. There are currently 425 Qatari engineers in Ashghal who are employed with a scholarship or as a replacement. Qatarisation plan was followed by Ashghal in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The authority is making great efforts to increase the Qatarisation percentage. Saif Ali Al Kaabi, Manager of Human Resources Department, stated that one of Ashghal’s strategic goals is to increase the number of qualified Qatari employees and develop their capabilities and competencies through our development and training programmes.
