Army jawan dies by suicide in Amritsar's Khasa Cantt

The body of an Army jawan was found hanging from a tree in Amritsar's Khasa Cantonment on Sunday morning.
An Army jawan died by suicide in Punjab's Amritsar on Sunday. Identified as Akshay, the deceased was posted at the Khasa Cantonment in Amritsar.
His body was found hanging from a tree by a subedar in the early hours of Sunday.
As per initial reports, the deceased jawan is a resident of Chhattisgarh and joined the Indian Army in 2019.
The matter is being probed by Amritsar Police.
However, the Army is yet to issue a statement on what might have led the jawan to take this extreme step.
Earlier on Sunday, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan opened fire at a camp in Amritsar, leaving four of his colleagues dead.
The jawan in question - Sateppa SK - was also killed in the incident.
