Son of legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun, is likely to play for Goa in the upcoming domestic season. The left-arm pacer is set to be part of Goa's pre-season matches.

In a bid to get more match practice, legendary Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun is all set to part ways with Mumbai and play for Goa in the upcoming season of Indian domestic cricket. Arjun has sought a No-Objection Certificate from Mumbai Cricket Association and is set to play pre-season games for Goa.

Arjun Tendulkar played 2 matches for Mumbai at the senior level during the 2020-21 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana and Puducherry after which he was eligible for the Indian Premier League auction. Arjun has been representing Mumbai Indians in the IPL over the last two years.

“Getting maximum game time on the ground is important for Arjun at this juncture of his career. We believe that the shift will improve the probability of Arjun featuring in more competitive matches. He is embarking on a new phase of his cricketing career,” SRT Sports Management said in a statement.

Arjun played two ‘Tests’ for the India U-19 against Sri Lanka, three summers back and has featured list of probables for Mumbai for the white ball leg of the domestic season earlier this year. However, Arjun was not considered for the senior domestic tournaments.

Arjun recently been a part of Mumbai Indians’ developmental squad that played a lot of T20 games in England.

The likes of Kumar Kartikeya, Anmolpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, and Dewald Brevis were all part of the squad that played T20 games against club sides.

Meanwhile, GOA Cricket Association president Suraj Lotlikar, speaking to the PTI news agency, said Arjun will be part of the pre-season games and the state selectors will take a call based on his performances in those games.
