Archaeologists uncover vast Roman road network — far longer than they ever imagined
Fox News
New digital atlas has revealed a Roman road network stretched 50% longer than previously known, mapping nearly 300,000 kilometers across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
"The Romans left a huge impact with this road network." Khloe Quill is a lifestyle production assistant with Fox News Digital. She and the lifestyle team cover a range of story topics including food and drink, travel, and health.
The last comprehensive atlas was released 25 years ago — but it relied on incomplete records and analogue mapping.
