Doha, Qatar: The Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call Thursday from HE Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the friendly United Kingdom.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region in light of the ongoing Iranian aggression against Qatar and a number of countries in the region, and the resulting serious escalation that threatens regional and international security and stability.
During the call, the UK Prime Minister also expressed his condemnation and strong disapproval of the targeting of the Ras Laffan Industrial City, stressing that such acts are unacceptable and constitute a flagrant violation of international laws and norms.
He further affirmed his country’s full commitment to the security of the State of Qatar, emphasising the need for de-escalation and a swift return to dialogue.
The call also addressed ways to reduce escalation and contain tensions through diplomatic channels, as well as intensifying international efforts to prevent the expansion of the conflict and to ensure stability in the region.
