Doha: Minister of Public Health H E Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saad Al Mahmoud has affirmed that Qatar’s healthcare sector is operating at a high level of readiness and preparedness, with all hospitals and health centers functioning around the clock to ensure uninterrupted services and rapid response to any emergency.
In an interview with Qatar TV yesterday, the Minister emphasised that emergency departments across the country are fully equipped and ready to handle any unforeseen developments.
He noted that the healthcare system in Qatar is supported by a comprehensive operational framework that ensures continuous monitoring and swift decision-making. The Minister highlighted that Qatar maintains an integrated medical supply system, backed by a robust strategic stockpile capable of covering the country’s needs for up to nine months.
He stressed that, so far, there has been no need to draw on this reserve, underscoring the stability of supply chains. “Authorities are closely monitoring global and regional supply routes to guarantee uninterrupted access to medicines and medical equipment,” said Al Mahmoud.
He further pointed to strong coordination among Gulf Cooperation Council member states in the field of medical supply, noting that no challenges have been encountered in importing pharmaceuticals or essential medical materials. Any potential disruptions, he said, are addressed promptly to ensure continuity.
