His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday attended the 50th edition of HH the Amir Cup final match between Al Gharafa and Al Duhail at Khalifa International Stadium. HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdulla Al Ghanim and a number of sheikhs and ministers attended the match. The final was also attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, a number of heads of Arab and international sports associations, a number of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar, and football fans. Al Duhail won the match against Al Gharafa 5-1. Following the conclusion of the match, HH the Amir handed over the trophy and gold medals to Al Duhail team, and the silver medals to Al Gharafa team. HH the Amir had seen part of the exhibition of pictures and collectibles held on the occasion of the golden jubilee of HH the Amir Football Cup, its 50th anniversary. Also, His Highness received the gold medal for the first edition of the championship in its first season in 1972.
