Amazon to invest ₹2,000 crore in India by 2025 to enhance infrastructure, safety programs, and technology for operations network.
Amazon will invest over ₹2,000 crore (some $233 million) in 2025 to expand and upgrade operations infrastructure, improve associate safety and well-being programmes, and develop new tools and technology for its fulfilment network in India.
This new investment was in addition to Amazon’s existing investments in creating an operations network that would help the company deliver to all serviceable pin-codes across India, the company said.
“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure—designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country. These latest investments reflect our commitment to continually expand and upgrade our operations across our fulfilment, sortation and delivery network,” said Abhinav Singh, VP - Operations, Amazon India and Australia.
By strengthening infrastructure capabilities, enhancing processing capacity, and implementing technology, Amazon was positioning itself to better serve customers throughout the country, he added..
According to Amazon, it plans to leverage these investments to launch new sites and upgrade existing facilities across its fulfilment, sortation and delivery network. This investment is expected to enhance processing capacity, improve fulfillment speed, and increase efficiency across the company’s operations network
Amazon further said it would also continue to invest and expand initiatives aimed at improving the health and financial well-being of employees and associates across the operations network. This includes expanding programs like ‘Ashray’ – to provide dedicated rest points for delivery associates, even those not delivering for Amazon – offering seating, water, charging stations, and washroom facilities.
Recently, the e-tailer launched a nation-wide initiative to offer free health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates and partners through medical camps by the end of 2025.

Scaling Artificial Intelligence(AI) at the speed at which consultants project is not possible by the laws of physics and may not be environmentally sustainable, said Tanvir Khan, who is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of NTT DATA North America, part of the Japanese technology services and data centre company NTT Data, in an interview with The Hindu.
