Allen Lazard may not be done with Jets just yet
NY Post
PALM BEACH, Fla. — Don’t say goodbye to Allen Lazard just yet, Jets fans.
General manager Darren Mougey said Sunday that the team is trying to work through a contract restructure with Lazard, who most people anticipated the team would cut.
Mougey said they are “working through that” right now when asked about Lazard.
When pressed what he meant, he said they are discussing a contract restructure.
Mougey said they want Lazard to be on the team.
“That’s the hope,” Mougey said. “We’ll work through that.”

Edwin Diaz explained his decision to leave the Mets for the Dodgers. The closer headed west for a three-year, $69 million contract with the two-time defending World Series Champions over the same terms and $3 million fewer with the Mets — who reportedly “had some wiggle room” on their initial offer. But it wasn’t just about the money, the 31-year-old said in his first Los Angeles press conference on Friday.
