Abandoned building in Miscouche destroyed by fire
CBC
An abandoned building in Miscouche, P.E.I., has been destroyed by fire.
First responders received a call at about 4 a.m. AT Sunday about a fire along Route 2.
When they arrived, firefighters located an abandoned one-storey building that was engulfed in flames. Because of unsafe conditions in the building, the fire was extinguished from outside.
There are no reports of injuries.
Jason Woodbury, chief of the Miscouche Fire Department, said the building is a complete loss and advises anyone with information to notify police.
"We are also reminding the residents that if they do see suspicious activity around vacant properties, or vacant structures, to notify the proper authorities," Woodbury said.
RCMP are investigating the incident and say it is too early to know if the fire is suspicious in nature.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
