Aaron Glenn is on a mission to clean up the Jets’ act — can he do it?
NY Post
Aaron Glenn is planting his flag and trying to get referees to stop throwing theirs on the Jets.
The new coach has put an emphasis early in training camp on changing the Jets from the most penalized team in the NFL into a team with more discipline than a monastery.
“You cannot win games in this league with an undisciplined team,” Glenn said Friday. “All the penalties that we had last year, we’re knocking those things out.”
Under former coach Robert Saleh, the Jets became one of the most penalized teams around. Their 137 accepted penalties were the most in 2024. They also led the league in 2023 with 124. Over the four seasons from 2021-24 when Saleh and then interim coach Jeff Ulbrich were in charge, the Jets had the third-most penalties with 455, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Only the Cowboys and Titans had more.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
