AAP sends invitation to Gujarat education minister, others to visit govt schools in Delhi

AAP on Saturday invited Gujarat ministers to visit Delhi government schools after education minister Jitu Vaghani refused to accept Manish Sisodia's open debate challenge.

The Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat on Saturday sent a written official invitation to the BJP's education minister, spokesperson and ministers from the state to visit Delhi and take a tour of any government school.

The AAP claimed that as the Gujarat education minister Jitu Vaghani did not accept an open debate challenge by Delhi's deputy CM and education minister Manish Sisodia, they have now asked the Gujarat government ministers to visit Delhi schools.

A few days back, the Gujarat BJP made several tweets raising questions about the Delhi government's education model. The AAP took it very seriously and Delhi's deputy CM and education minister Manish Sisodia challenged Gujarat's education minister Jitu Vaghani for an open debate. Vaghani did not accept the challenge and said such debates cannot happen.

The party said it will make another attempt on Monday next week to meet the minister and hand over the invite.

AAP Gujarat leader Gopal Italia said, "We are going to give the written official invitation and we will visit them with a bouquet. When the government's representatives come to Delhi, all protocols will be followed. They will be welcomed by our officials in Delhi and proper care will be taken. We are hopeful they will accept our invitation and be our guests."

He added, "Gujarat's education minister Jitu Vaghani did not accept the challenge by Manish Sisodia. I would say he ran away. The debate over education is a must and it should happen. Now they don't want to debate but at least check our schools in Delhi."
