
AAP protests against Punjab Congress leader's 'band player' attack on Dalit minister

Senior AAP leaders, including ministers and MLAs, led the demonstrations, voicing concern over what they described as derogatory comments targeting the Dalit community and demanding an apology from Bajwa.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday held protests across Punjab, gathering outside district Congress committee offices over remarks allegedly made by state Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa against state minister Harbhajan Singh.
Senior AAP leaders, including ministers and MLAs, led the demonstrations, voicing concern over what they described as derogatory comments targeting the Dalit community and demanding an apology from Bajwa.
AAP members staged sit-ins, raised slogans, and in some locations demonstrated outside the residences of Congress leaders.
In Rupnagar, MLA Dr Charanjit Singh led a protest, with participants stating, "Down with the anti-Dalit Congress!"
At sites including Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Bathinda, Amritsar, and Jalandhar, AAP officials organised sit-ins and arranged for wedding bands to play as a symbolic protest.
Addressing a gathering in Hoshiarpur, AAP leaders described Bajwa's comments as "unfortunate and unacceptable," insisting that an apology be issued.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
