Satyendar Jain files defamation complaint against Bansuri Swaraj for false allegations, damaging his personal and professional reputation.
Former Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain has filed a defamation complaint against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, alleging that her remarks in a television interview have tarnished his reputation.

The Rouse Avenue Court is set to consider the complaint on Tuesday (December 10, 2024). Mr. Jain has alleged Ms. Swaraj made defamatory statements during an interview on October 5, 2023, which was widely broadcast and viewed by millions.
He has claimed that the remarks made by Bansuri Swaraj were to defame him and to gain undue political advantage. According to Mr. Jain, Ms. Swaraj falsely claimed that 3 crores, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins were recovered from his residence.

He contends these allegations were baseless and politically motivated to tarnish his image. In furtherance of the vilification campaign, Mr. Jain claimed that Ms. Swaraj had further defamed him by calling him 'Corrupt' and 'Fraud'.
“Several false, malicious and defamatory allegations were levelled against the complainant,” he alleged. Mr. Jain asserted that the remarks have caused severe damage to his personal and professional reputation, affecting his role as a public representative and his standing among his family and society.

The Centre has rejected reports that the definition of the Aravalli hills was changed to permit large-scale mining, citing a Supreme Court-ordered freeze on new leases. It said a court-approved framework will bring over 90% of the Aravalli region under protected areas and strengthen safeguards against illegal mining. The clarification follows controversy over the “100-metre” criterion used to define hills across states.
