KKR brought back Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Pat Cummins, Varun Chakravarthy and Sheldon Jackson, replacing the likes of Aaron Finch, Shivam Mavi, Harshit Rana, Anukul Roy and Baba Indrajith. KkR are already the team that has made the most changes in the ongoing IPL season.
Despite having reached the final and getting on board one of the most promising young leaders in Shreyas Iyer, KKR have struggled to zero on in a settled playing XI.
Iyer expressed confidence that their beefed up batting unit will be able to get the job done in their must-win match on Monday. KKR have won 4 out of their first 11 matches and they can't afford to lose anymore from hereon if they are to retain their outside chances of reaching the play-offs.
"Looking at the changes in the batting line up, we have a good batting lineup, we need to put up a good total. The opening partnership has been lacking from the first match. Players are in form, they are out of form, that's the beauty of game. We need to come up with a fresh mind," Iyer said on Monday.
