“I thought I’d lost it,” admitted the BBC’s Gary O’Donoghue.
The BBC’s chief North America correspondent, Gary O’Donoghue, finally landed his long-sought interview with Donald Trump.
But it didn’t begin smoothly.
O’Donoghue was napping on Monday evening when the call from the White House came.

O’Donoghue, who is blind, had spent weeks chasing the president’s people for a conversation timed around the first anniversary of the assassination attempt on his life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, he said.
