As voters head to the polls in today's federal election, CBC Kitchener-Waterloo asked three people from across Waterloo region what they want others to keep in mind.
Samantha Porte of Cambridge said her top issues in this campaign were housing, the opioid crisis and Indigenous trauma.
Porte is Indigenous, a harm reduction worker and a millennial who says those issues hit home for her.
"Just think about what you want for the future. There doesn't need to be a strategy. We are always so strategic with our voting," Porte said.
"Your voice matters, your opinion matters and if we all vote the way we want, then maybe we will have a different outcome."
Alexander Stubbs of Waterloo admitted he will be on the edge of his seat waiting for the results.
"I'm not excited, I'm anxious," he said.

A Calgary woman accused of sending five emails that threatened former Alberta justice minister Jonathan Denis, his mother and several of his friends has seen those charges dropped after evidence was revealed in court that one of the emails was sent through an email-spoofing website based in the Czech Republic and police determined the other four were “not authentic.”
