Left-handed batter Kamil Mishara didn't get to play a single match on Sri Lanka's ongoing tour of Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka Cricket, on Tuesday, May 24, called back left-handed batter Kamil Mishara from the ongoing tour of Bangladesh after he allegedly breached SLC’s Code of Conduct. The country’s cricket board is yet to reveal the nature of breach.
The SLC released a statement to share the update on the 21-year-old Mishara.
“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to recall Kamil Mishara from Bangladesh for his alleged breach of rules [(clause no 1 (j)] governing the player’s conduct/behaviour as depicted in his Tour Contract
“Accordingly, Mishara, who is a part of the 18-member squad taking part in the ongoing Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh Series, will be immediately flown back to Sri Lanka,” the statement read.
“Upon his return, Sri Lanka Cricket will conduct a full inquiry into the ‘violations’ and upon the outcome of the inquiry, further actions would be determined on the player,” the statement added.
Mishara was earlier picked to play in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, led by Mominul Haque Showrabh. He didn’t play in the opening Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
To his dismay, he didn’t get to play in the second Test match either, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
