Incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, first elected in a special election 2020, is facing Republican Herschel Walker in one of the most closely-watched battles in the 2022 cycle. Polls have now closed in Georgia and CBS News projects the race as a toss-up as of 7 p.m. ET.
According to early exit polls, Georgia's Senate race voters said the qualities they are looking for are honesty and integrity, as well as a candidate who shares their values.
In October, Walker's campaign was rocked by allegations that he paid for at least one woman to have an abortion. Walker has denied the allegations, and national Republicans have stuck by him.
