1st Test: Bangladesh reach 302 for 2 on Day 1 vs Sri Lanka after Najmul Hossain's maiden hundred

Bangladesh dominated proceedings on Day 1 of the 1st Test against Sri Lanka thanks to superb knocks from Najmul Hossain, Tamim Iqbal and captain Mominul Haque at Kandy.

Bangladesh produced a fantastic batting performance on Day 1 of the first Test against Sri Lanka on Wednesday thanks to Najmul Hossain Shanto's maiden international hundred in Kandy. Bangladesh reached 302 for 2 at stumps with Najmul Hossain unbeaten on 126 along with captain Mominul Haque at the other end on 64 not out. The knock came at a crucial time for Bangladesh who had lost opener Saif Hassan in the 2nd over after Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. Najmul added 144 for the second wicket with Tamim Iqbal (90) before teaming up with his skipper Mominul to stitch another big stand which is already worth 150 and still going strong.
