A number of internationally recognised yoga schools from London to New York and Sao Paulo to Bangkok actively participate in the programme as thousands of socially conscious yogis across the world spread the message of Odanadi’s fight against human trafficking, sexual exploitation and gender discrimination.
Yoga practitioners across 40 countries in the world are expected to participate in the 17th edition of ‘Yoga Stops Traffick’ on March 29 as part of an initiative by Mysuru-based Odanadi Seva Samsthe to use yoga as a humanitarian tool against human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
What began as a modest exercise in 2010 of ‘One Day – One Voice – United Against Human Trafficking’ has now spread across the globe, transcending cultures and borders, to create a movement against human trafficking and exploitation
A number of internationally recognised yoga schools from London to New York and Sao Paulo to Bangkok actively participate in the programme as thousands of socially conscious yogis across the world spread the message of Odanadi’s fight against human trafficking, sexual exploitation and gender discrimination.
‘Yoga stops Traffick’ also serves as a fundraiser for Odanadi’s efforts towards rescue and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation while also helping Odanadi garner ethical and social support for its local initiatives. Funds are raised when members of the global yoga community purchase yoga-themed T shirts carrying Odanadi’s message.
Yoga Stops Traffick will be held in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple near the North Gate of Mysuru palace at 7.30 p.m. on March 29.
Odanadi has appealed to people to purchase their Yoga T-shirt on the occasion of Yoga Stops Traffick on March 29, and extend support to their campaign against exploitation.
