The Delhi government felicitated 17 lecturers from state-funded colleges and universities for 'excellent' work done by them.
Recognising the outstanding work done by 17 lecturers in colleges and state universities funded by it, the Delhi Government honoured them under the 'Award for College Lecturers' scheme. Further hailing the efforts the 17 lecturers, the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sissodia remarked that teachers and lecturers are the largest contributors to nation-building.
"Our teachers impact millions of lives with their work. Our teachers prepare the foundation of the country, our children, for the future," said the Delhi deputy chief minister.
He went on to say, "The faculty members of our colleges have been instrumental in building a knowledge-based society in Delhi, so it is our duty to honour them."
"Our vision is to change the country through education and our teachers are contributing in this direction by leading the movement," he said further.
The AAP dispensation introduced the 'Award for College Lecturers' initiative in 2019 to recognise lecturers' contributions.
For selection of the winning lecturers on the above mentioned criteria, an evaluation committee is set up at both college and university levels.
The lecturers are selected for the award on the basis of student feedback, result improvement, research work, extra-curricular activities and other academic areas.
