ZPM urges Mizoram government to provide protection to farmers near Assam border

Mizoram’s main Opposition party Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) on January 10 urged the State government to provide protection to broomstick growers to ensure that they reap their harvest.
In a statement, the party said that many broomstick farmers at Aitlang area near Vairengte, a disputed land along the State’s border with Assam, are facing an acute crisis because their farmlands are still “occupied” by the Assam Police.
