“In this second presidential term, Trump doesn’t fire anyone anymore," noted the MSNBC anchor.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Monday highlighted how President Donald Trump is handling his officials who flop.
“In this second presidential term, Trump doesn’t fire anyone anymore,” Maddow said. “When he wants to fire someone, he instead just makes them an ambassador.”
“And it’s always because of some kind of mess,” she noted in a monologue that was titled “Maddow finds Trump’s new hiding place for screw-ups: ambassadorships” when shared on YouTube.
Maddow pointed to several examples, including Trump’s former national security adviser Mike Waltz, who was made U.S. ambassador to the United Nations after the so-called “Signalgate” scandal.
“You don’t get fired,” Maddow quipped. “You become the ambassador to some country that doesn’t deserve it.”
