Yankees still trying hard for Cody Bellinger as stout competition emerges
NY Post
Cody Bellinger remains the Yankees’ No. 1 target, and while they aren’t necessarily close to a deal, they are making a big effort.
Bellinger has a ton of interest coming off his 5-WAR season, with the Mets, Phillies, Angels and his old Dodgers team also possibilities.
While Bellinger slightly outplayed Kyle Tucker in 2025 (and fits the Yankees and Mets better due to his ability to play 1B and CF), Tucker is the No. 1 free agent due to age, more consistency and high walk rate.
Tucker’s in good shape with the aggressive Blue Jays hosting him this week, as FanSided’s Robert Murray first reported, and they have been very interested all along. …

The deal that brought Aidan Thompson to the Rangers didn’t create the ripple effects that the Artemi Panarin trade did because of who departed the organization. That was only Derrick Pouliot, a 32-year-old defenseman more than two years removed from his last NHL game. It didn’t create the waves like one for, say, Vincent Trocheck, would have because of current NHL players or draft capital the Blueshirts received in return, either.
