Yankees scout Anibal Sanchez with rotation struggling
NY Post
CLEVELAND — The Yankees were among the teams to check in on Anibal Sanchez for his bullpen session on Friday, The Post confirmed.
The right-hander is still looking for a place to land after an ugly 2020 season. Sanchez suffered a finger laceration during a bullpen session earlier in the month after just 13 pitches. Sanchez, 37, was solid as recently as two years ago, when he had a 3.85 ERA in 166 innings with the Nationals. But he followed that up with a 6.62 ERA in 53 innings with Washington last season, when he gave up the most earned runs in the National League.
Almost a year to the day after a goaltender interference call against Kyle Palmieri lost the Islanders a game against the Blue Jackets that started their season’s death spiral, they were on the wrong end of another controversial call against those same Blue Jackets that might have had the same effect.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.
