The identity of the new police chief in Windsor, Ont., will be revealed Tuesday by the police services board.
The announcement is expected at 9:30 a.m. ET. Mayor Drew Dilkens, who also chairs the board, will deliver the news, which comes in a year when two others have helmed the Windsor Police Service.
Pam Mizuno made an unexpected departure in March, three years after the last leadership change. She was three years into a five-year contract.
Since then, Jason Bellaire, former deputy chief, has been acting chief.
Bellaire said in March that he was considering applying for the top job.
The successful candidate will lead a service of 676 officers and civilian staff.
More to come
P.E.I.'s Public Schools Branch is looking for 50 substitute bus drivers, and it'll be recruiting at three job fairs on Saturday, June 8. The job fairs are located at the Atlantic Superstore in Montague, Royalty Crossing in Charlottetown, and the bus parking lot of Three Oaks Senior High in Summerside. All three run from 9 a.m. until noon. Dave Gillis, the director of transportation and risk management for the Public Schools Branch, said the number of substitute drivers they're hiring isn't unusual. "We are always looking for more. Our drivers tend to have an older demographic," he said.
