Windsor-Essex under severe rainfall warning, thunderstorm watch Tuesday
CBC
Windsor and Essex County could be in for more than 50 mm of heavy rainfall — with isolated amounts reaching 75 mm — and a thunderstorm Tuesday, Environment Canada says.
The thunderstorm tracking for the area could produce heavy rains and hail up to the size of a toonie, the weather agency said, issuing a rainfall warning and severe thunderstorm watch. There is also the risk of an isolated tornado.
Wind gusts of up to 100km/h are also possible.
People are warned to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Downpours could also cause flash floods, water pooling on roads and wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage buildings or break tree branches, Environment Canada warns.
