Why is Centre not initiating CBI inquiry against KCR, asks Revanth Reddy

Revanth Reddy questions the Centre's inaction on a CBI inquiry against KCR, alleging unethical wealth accumulation by the BRS.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not initiating any action against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership despite the party amassing wealth illegally, and claimed that a CBI inquiry was not being ordered due to the pressure from the Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.

Addressing a public meeting at Bhupalapally on Sunday, he claimed that nearly ₹1,500 crore in the BRS party accounts was amassed through unethical practices.

He said the Centre had initiated CBI and ED cases against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, but similar action was not being taken in the Kaleshwaram scam. He questioned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy for remaining silent and termed him as “the adopted son of KCR.”

Terming the BRS as “Blackmail Rajakiya Samithi,” he said the phone-tapping episodes during the KCR government were sufficient proof of how the BRS leadership allegedly blackmailed people, grabbed lands, and extorted money. He claimed that businessmen were targeted and coerced through surveillance of their phone conversations, which was corroborated by BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy.

Recalling the sacrifices of Singareni workers in the Telangana movement, Mr. Reddy noted that former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao hailed from the undivided Warangal district and that students of Kakatiya and Osmania Universities spearheaded both phases of the Telangana movement. He also remembered Professor Jayashankar as a key architect of the Telangana Statehood struggle.

He said KCR was resting at his farmhouse and PM Modi would never visit Telangana to solve local problems. So vote only for Congress for solving the local problems, he said.
