
Western Hospital emergency department closing early Friday, Saturday

Health P.E.I. officials say "a temporary lack of staffing" has led to the decision to close the emergency department at Western Hospital early on Friday and Saturday.
The department will close at 6 p.m. instead of 8 p.m. both days.
Overnight emergency care won't be available in Alberton either. The collaborative emergency centre is not expected to reopen until January.

An Ontario woman who regularly shared her experiences as a sexual assault survivor at police training courses says she’s ending her relationship with the Ontario Police College and is raising concerns about what she and several experts say are harmful biases among some officers and a lack of accountability from the college.
