The old Kiswa was removed and the new one installed and secured over the Kaaba’s corners and rooftop.
“By the grace of Allah, the ceremony of replacing the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba for the year 1447 AH has been completed successfully. We ask Allah to continue to increase the honor and reverence of this sacred house,” the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques stated on its platform on X on Thursday. The new Kiswa weighs 1,415 kilograms, measures 14 meters in height, and consists of four separate sides and a door curtain.
