The Mexican government's military operation that killed a prominent drug lord was executed with the help of U.S. intelligence, according to the White House.

Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, known as "El Mencho," was killed in the operation. Leavitt thanked the Mexican military for military "for their cooperation and successful execution of this operation."
Trump has launched an aggressive anti-drug campaign in his second term that has included military strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific and pressuring the Mexican government to crack down on traffickers.
