UP Express suspended, GO trains disrupted after truck with boom up hits west end bridge
CBC
The UP Express was suspended and service on some GO trains was disrupted during the Friday morning rush hour after a vehicle with a boom struck a rail bridge in west Toronto.
The collision happened around 7:25 a.m., according to police. It left a "chunk of concrete" hanging from the bridge, which is situated just east of the corner of St. Claire Avenue West and Weston Road.
UP shuttle buses are running between Union Station and Pearson airport, Metrolinx said.
Meanwhile, GO trains are holding around Bloor and Weston stations and riders are encouraged to take the TTC instead.
It's unclear when regular service will resume.
More to come.
